
Andrea Christie-David is the Founder and Managing Director of Leor In Home Early Learning, a childcare service that places qualified early childhood Educators into family homes to deliver tailored learning programs to children aged between six weeks and 12 years.
Andrea is also a Director of Relationships Australia (NSW), a large not for profit organisation delivering counselling, family support, family dispute resolution, and children’s support services across New South Wales. Andrea was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Salvos Legal Humanitarian, a social enterprise law firm delivering commercial legal services for a fee in order to fund pro bono legal services to vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community.
Andrea previously worked as the Principal Solicitor of a community legal centre, ran the professional development program for the peak body in migration law, and has worked as a law lecturer at various Australian Universities. After working in corporate law at a top tier firm and in the in house legal team of large corporations, Andrea decided to pursue her passions in the community sector. This resulted in her completion of a Master of International Law at the University of Sydney, during which time she undertook an internship at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. It was this decision that took her into the human rights career that she enjoyed for the past decade.
Andrea is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a course she completed as the recipient of a women of diversity scholarship from the Minister for Women. In 2013 Andrea was recognised as ‘ Woman Lawyer of the Year in a Community Organisation ’ by the Women Lawyers Association of NSW. Andrea was a finalist in the Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards 2019 in the category of Emerging Female Entrepreneur.
Andrea has consistently been engaged in the community sector, in both paid and volunteer roles, and it is this passion for making the world a better place that drives both her personal and professional values.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Master of International Law. She is also a solicitor admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
