About me

My name is Kayla (she/her/hers) and I’m a clinical psychologist and research fellow at University of New South Wales School of Psychology, based at the Black Dog Insitute. My research areas of interest include personality disorder, anxiety disorders, parent-child attachment relationships, and developing and evaluating novel psychological interventions.

I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from University of Wollongong and I have published my research in peer reviewed academic journals and presented at national and international conferences.

I’m passionate about translating evidence-based research into easy to digest and accessible content, and I’ve contributed to Soho House Magazine, Pedestrian TV, Lifehacker, Refinery29, Body and Soul Magazine, Bed Threads, the Conversation and ABC Radio National.

Clinically, I have worked across various settings including public mental health inpatient units, community adult and child and adolescent mental health settings, university clinics and in my private practice in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.
