
I began my Executive Coaching business after almost 30 years in nursing which culminated in an Executive Director of Nursing role that led me to a rather spectacular burnout. I have since gained certification in Executive Coaching, with additional certification in EQi-2.0 and EQ360. This is on the back of a BScN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), an MBA (Health Services Management) and various specialty certifications.
Along with my own story of burnout and recovery, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my clients around recognition and management of burnout, and coach leaders (both individually or as team members in an organisation) in working through burnout with the goal to thrive in their careers. This includes assessing leadership style, resiliency, and key personal contributors. I also help organisations develop leaders and teams that are struggling with overwhelm and inefficiency.
The topics that I can deliver are customisable, and revolve around Burnout (what it is and what either dealing with it or not dealing with it will look like in the long run – individually or organisationally); Self-care when facing extreme stress and burnout; Impact of long term stress and overwhelm on teams and what coaching can do to increase efficiency teamwork and improve outcomes and communication; and other issues related to burnout, personal resilience, leadership development, and team resilience.
The majority of my speaking experience has been aligned with my previous corporate career in health/nursing. I have delivered presentations to boards of management and industry conferences, along with myriad small groups. I h ave also taught specialty nursing courses.
